Motherbox Records : New releases - new venue

Publié le par Music'N'Punk

Just picked up our newest release, a CD from Finland's Hasta La Vista Social Club entitled "Lake Lark White Trash" ... now I have no idea where Lake Lark is but this is one sick album. These guys have been together since 2003, have several albums out (in Europe) and just today are finishing up a tour through the northern part of Europe (the ex-Soviet Bloc countries + a few more). Check them out they are in our top friends - all our distributors should have these by next week (if you see me - you can get one from me for cheaper) ... seriously good stuff.

Quarterlife Crisis had their CD release show and will be heading on the road shortly to support "Washed Up" ... check out their myspace if you can help them with any open dates they may have. Their CD is at Interpunk now, expect other distros to list soon - as well as all that electronic media (itunes, emusic) ... if you plan on seeing the band buy from them cause a band playing a show needs the money - and it kicks ass and makes the fellas feel good when they sell their shit.

New venue?? Yes sir - we had a "trial run" show for the new Mr Beery's location in East Rockaway. The bartenders are nice - the room is big enough and loud as fuck. We booked the first show there and had Beg Borrow and Steal from New Hyde Park open up as the true guinea pig band ... they killed it with their own Sublime tinged punk/reggae dub. Next up Superbuick from PA did their skate punk rock ... followed by the street punk sounds of Kickstarts (who are fast becoming one of my favorite Long Island based bands ... watch for their release on Koi records) ... then the two kick ass touring bands played - The Angst from Florida played political crusty punk amd then 4 Past Midnight from Scotland played a phenomenal set. For a band that has never played in the States before this tour they got the room into their shit by the second song ... their album (which is awesome) will be forthcoming on SOS Records in the US. Regarding the new venue - I will be doing 2 shows a month and I know Jarret from The Rebel Dead will be doing shows as well. Contacting him or me would be your logical course of action if you would like to play here ...
