FUNTIME RECORDS : JANUARY NEWSFLASH::HAPPY 2010 + SPRING RELEASES

Here we are with a short newsflash to start the year!
We know we're already a little bit late, but that shouldn't spoil the fun : a HAPPY and FANTASTIC new year, full of great music, love, passion and friendship to all of you!!!
Of course we didn't sit on our lazy ass the last couple of weeks, since we have been very busy planning some stuff already for the months/year to come.
Some big info bulletins can be expected in the next couple of weeks, but here we go already with some short news- and infoflashes...
SPRING RELEASES...
You can expect two new releases the next couple of bands, both from bands that have already put their marks on our precious scene the last couple of years....
THE MAPLE ROOM will release their new and third album on funtime records in april and you can expect a more atmospheric sound with a lot of layers and the official debut of their new singer Marcus.
If you want to check out what the new songs sound like, you should keep an eye (and an ear) on their www.myspace.com/themapleroom Of course we will send you an official newsletter as soon as the first new song(s) of the soon to be released new record are unleashed... But you can already mark the following date : 3rd of april, cause that's the date of Riorock, where TMR will officially present their new album!!!
Also CAMPUS is ready to enter the studio with producer Ace Zec to record the follow up album for the very succesful 'We are The Silence'. 'Oh Comely' is the title of that brandnew album and it's set for release in may.
You can expect a more progressive, experimental and innovative sound on the new album...people who've seen Campus play some new songs during their recent live sets, will know what we're talking about. The cd release is planned on saturday the 8th of may at de Klinker in Aarschot and the bands Grey Like Masquerade, Exit on the Left and Reasons have confirmed to play the support on the Campus release show.

SOME INTERESTING DATES...
To mark on your calender...on the 13th of MARCH, there's CAPTAIN STRAIGHT ED FEST at the Sojo club in Leuven where HOMER will celebrate it's 10th anniversary with a special birthday set. They will play a 15 song set, selected on behalf of top 3 lists....so, what's stopping you? Send in your top 3 of favourite homer songs to johan@funtimerecords.com and make a chance to be one of the 2 winners of the following fine package : 2 Homer shirts + the complete Homer discography (yes, you read it well, 4 full albums and two split cd's) What are you waiting for? Other fine bands playing that day include Campus, Exit on the Left, Face the Fax, The Ignored, Her Concept, When Hope Escapes and more...
Next stop on the calendar is PUNKROCK ATTACK 5 at de Klinker in Aarschot on the 10th of APRIL with such fine bands like THIS IS A STANDOFF (can), Passenger Action, Second Base, Homer and more...
And the dates for this year's FUNTIME FESTIVAL have been fixed too ...we're talking about the 1st and the 2nd of OCTOBER at de Klinker in Aarschot.
